Team Hell No vs. Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns

Daniel Bryan gets a surfboard submission applied on Seth Rollins early on, while Kane works over Roman Reigns in the corner. Kane with a boot to the face of Rollins. Reigns with a big elbow to Bryan and shots to Kane. Reigns with a big clothesline on Bryan. Kane attempts a double chokeslam on Reigns and Rollins. Instead, Kane pushes both back over the top rope. Bryan the connects with a suicide dive taking out both members of The Shield. Bryan with kicks to Rollins and kane with rights to Reigns in respective corners. Bryan and Kane switch off. They switch off a second time. Kane with a side slam on Reigns assisted by Bryan with a flying elbow. Bryan with a scoop slam on Rollins. Kane drops Rollins, Bryan goes up top and connects with his flying headbutt. Kane covers Rollins and Reigns breaks it up. Bryan goes for the No Lock on Reigns. Kane is cutting off Rollins from getting back in. Rollins drops Kane’s jaw off the top rope and then Rollins springboards in to break it up. Kane with a chokeslam on Rollins.

Reigns with a spear on Kane. All four men are down. Reigns works over Bryan yelling, “You try to break my arm? I’m going to break your face!” Reigns ends up sending Kane into Bryan in the corner. Kane has Reigns ready for a chokeslam. Rollins comes off the top rope with a flying knee to Kane. Reigns with another spear to Kane. Bryan breaks up the pinfall attempt. Bryan with kicks to the chest of Reigns. Reigns avoids a kick to the head and Bryan attempts a No Lock. Reigns catapults Bryan into the knees of Rollins from the ring apron. Reigns has Bryan on his shoulders. Rollins jumps off the top turnbuckle stomping the face of Bryan off the shoulders of Reigns. Reigns hooks the leg of Bryan. Rollins kicks Kane out of the ring. Reigns gets the pinfall.

Winners: Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns

Newly crowned WWE United States Champion Dean Ambrose hits the ring to celebrate with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Michael Cole puts over how all members of The Shield now hold titles. We see highlights of the match leading to the finish. Back live, The Shield continues to celebrate with all of their new titles tonight.

WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No will face the biggest challenge of their eight-month title reign when they defend against The Shield’s Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins in a Tag Team Tornado Match at Extreme Rules. Unlike traditional tag team contests, the stipulation for this Sunday’s championship duel does away with the formality of tagging; instead, all four Superstars will fight concurrently until a pinfall or submission decision is rendered.

A holdover from the nascent years of tag team competition, the Tornado Match seemingly plays to the strengths of Reigns and Rollins who, alongside Dean Ambrose, have excelled in matches in which their frenetic ring style isn’t stymied by tags. That’s to say nothing of the inherent danger of Tag Team Tornado Matches. The risk of being blindsided is grave, and double-team attacks are inevitable. When all four Superstars are battling in the ring simultaneously for the entire duration of a match, the overall chance of injury is heightened immeasurably.

Yet considering the stakes, perhaps the combatants wouldn’t have it any other way.

Mysterious though they remain to much of the WWE roster, the “Hounds of Justice” have become familiar foes of Kane and Daniel Bryan. The ever-popular titleholders were among the first Superstars to try to take down The Shield, having teamed with Ryback in a grueling Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match against the trio last December. Ultimately, The Shield prevailed in that contest, just as they did in a recent six-man tag against Kane, Bryan and WWE’s one and only Phenom, The Undertaker.

Even though Team Hell No has so far failed in its efforts to defeat The Shield, could Extreme Rules represent the perfect opportunity for Kane and Bryan to put into action whatever insight they’ve gleaned about the black-garbed insurgents?

The reigning champions will have ample motivation when they enter the ring Sunday. Besides their losses to The Shield in sanctioned competition, Bryan and Kane have fallen victim to the “Hounds of Justice’s” ambushes in the past. One such attack culminated with The Shield standing over Kane’s prone body and hoisting the tag team championship gold high overhead, as if to lay claim to the titles.

Was that scene only a sign of things to come this Sunday? Or will that memory, fresh in the minds of Kane and Bryan, be what propels Team Hell No past The Shield?

The only certainty is that Extreme Rules’ WWE Tag Team Championship Match will be fast and furious. With four of WWE’s most intense and dangerously creative Superstars left to their own devices in a Tag Team Tornado Match, “breathers” will be hard to come by. Catch the breakneck action this Sunday when Extreme Rules airs on pay-per-view beginning at 8 ET/5 PT.

Six-Man Elimination Tag Team Match
The Shield vs. John Cena & Team Hell No

Kane and Ambrose start the match. After a back and forth Dane tags in Bryan. Ambrose is grounded but is able to make it to the corner and tags in Rollins. Kane brings in Cena and the Champion charges into the ring.

Back from the break, Bryan has Ambrose in a surfboard stretch. Kane tags himself in and falls on Ambrose. Cover, but Ambrose kicks out. Bryan gets the quick tag. Ambrose is hit with a few uppercuts but pushes Bryan towards the Shield corner. Rollins tags himself in and unloads with a flurry of kicks. Reigns and Ambrose take their cheap shots as they can find them. Reigns gets the tag and tosses Bryan face first down to the mat. Bryan is hit with a shoulder block that flattens him. Reigns strikes another block and a cover. Bryan kicks out. Rollins flies into the ring off the tag and attempts to roll up Bryan. Daniel kicks out but is immediately trapped in a rear headlock. Ambrose gets the tag as The Shield starts to take advantage via the numbers game. Ambrose stomps on the chest of Bryan before flipping him over and applying a chin lock. Bryan is finally able to gather enough strength to escape and tag in Kane. Kane takes down Ambrose and then knocks the rest of The Shield members off of the apron. Kane turns his attention back to Ambrose and hits a Big Boot. Cover, but Ambrose kicks out. Kane climbs to the top turnbuckle and leaps for the rolling arm lariat. Kane connects with the move. Kane grabs Ambrose by the neck and is looking for a chokeslam. Rollins jumps into the ring but Kane catches him by the neck as well. Kane pushes them both backwards until they are sent over the top rope and go crashing out of the ring. Kane follows after and continues the attack. Kane rips the top off of the announce booth and uses it to take out Ambrose. Kane is unrelenting with his attack. The referee eventually calls for Kane’s elimination as the Big Red Machine is out of control.

Back from the break Ambrose is on top of John Cena. He continues the attack until Reigns gets the tag. He does a bit of DragonBall Z style powering up before charging at Cena. Reigns hits a suplex and then tags in Rollins. Seth leaps from the top turnbuckle and attempts to keep Cena grounded. Rollins clings to the back of Cena as long as possible. He looks for the choke out but Cena is able to tag in Bryan. Daniel is lying all over the ring and uses his speed to take down Rollins. He runs the ropes and lies straight out onto Reigns outside the ring. Bryan climbs to the top turnbuckle and hits a huge missile dropkick. Bryan goes for the cover but Seth kicks out. Bryan attempts a no lock but Ambrose gets the tag as Rollins is whipped into the ropes. Bryan knocks down Ambrose, but Rollins catches him off guard with a kick to the skull. Ambrose hits a Russian Leg Sweep variant and covers Bryan. Daniel Bryan is eliminated. John Cena is now alone against The Shield. He rushes towards Ambrose but finds himself in the corner of The Shield. There are a couple of rapid tags before Cena is able to move towards the center of the ring and isolate Rollins. Cena sets in for the Five Moves of Doom. The 5 Knuckle Shuffle connects on Rollins. Cena covers him for the pin. Ambrose runs in to be the legal man. Cena lifts him up onto his shoulder. Reigns runs into the ring but the referee looks to hold him back. Reigns pushes the referee out of the way and hits a spear. The referee eliminates Reigns. Ambrose crawls towards Cena and attempts a cover. Cena kicks out. Cena gets behind Ambrose and locks on the STF. Before Ambrose can be forced to tap, the other members of The Shield run back to the ring. They leap into the ring and attack Cena.

Winner via DQ: John Cena

After the match the three on one attack continues. Cena is left sprawled out in the middle of the ring with his Title by his side. Ryback’s music hits after The Shield has left the ring. He walks down and slides into the ring. He looks to attack Cena, but decides to walk back out of the ring. Ryback then heads back towards the ring and grabs a steel chair. He stands over Cena and slams the chair into the injured heel of Cena.

Dean Ambrose pinned R-Truth. R truth got a nice ovation. I was on the edge seat of the stairs where The Shield walked by. There was a huge ovation for them, those guys are legit. There was heavy heat on The Shield attacking after the match. Kane’s music hit and the roof exploded on this place. The shield left the ring and then it was announced as Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs Kane and Daniel Bryan for the belts.

Kane and Daniel Bryan defeated Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns by DQ to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship. There were huge cheers for Bryan as he kicked Rollins. Ambrose interfered with a chair for the DQ. They were going to Triple Powerbomb Kane after the match, but Kofi Kingston made the save and the the faces performed their finishers (Kofi hit TIP on Ambrose, Kane choke slammed Rollins and Bryan hit Reigns with the Chair). Kane held onto Bryan’s title and Bryan asked for it back. Kane said no, leading to Bryan chasing Kane around the ring while trying to get it. Bryan flipped out and said he doesn’t have a goat face. Everyone screamed goat face. Bryan started crying as he asked for his title, then they hugged, and Kane gave the title back. The crowd got into it.

Dean Ambrose beat R-Truth. Shield beat down Truth after the match, which brought out Team Hell No rushing to his aid. The Shield then talked Team Hell No into defending their titles.

WWE Tag champions Daniel Bryan & Kane beat The Shield via DQ to retain the Tag Titles. Team Hell No won via DQ when chairs were introduced into the match. Another post-match beat down ensued until Kofi Kingston came down to even things up. The Shield retreated. Bryan then celebrated with both titles until Kane took them from him. Bryan then demanded that Kane give them back. Bryan began rushing Kane as if he were a bull, only to have Kane play the part of the matador. Bryan then started crying and began to exit the ring. Kane finally agreed to hand the title over, but only if Bryan hugged him. After a little hesitation from Bryan, they embraced.

Dean Ambrose w/The Shield vs. Daniel Bryan w/Kane

As soon as the bell rings, Bryan takes Ambrose down with a flying knee to the face. Bryan stomps away at him in the corner. Bryan uppercuts him before Ambrose turns him around. Ambrose punches him before raking his face on the top rope. Bryan counters a whip and knees Ambrose in the midsection. Bryan elbows him in the neck before kicking him in the back a few times. Bryan drops a knee and puts him in the corner. Bryan hits a straight right hand before Ambrose jabs him in the throat. Ambrose puts him in the corner and punches away at him. Ambrose takes him across the ring and bounces him off the turnbuckle. Ambrose head-butts him down before choking him with his boot. Ambrose chops the chest before sending Bryan into the corner. Bryan backflips over him, ducks a clothesline, and hits a flying elbow. Bryan begins kicking him in the chest. Ambrose ducks the kick to the head and rolls out of the ring to recover. Bryan then takes him out with a suicide dive. The Shield goes to attack Bryan, but Kane stands as the equalizer.

We come back from the break to see Ambrose drop an elbow for a near fall. Ambrose applies a hammerlock/neck vice combination. During the commercial break, Ambrose dropped Bryan throat first on the top rope. Ambrose turns the submission into a double arm chin lock. Bryan begins to fight up, and Ambrose clotheslines him down. Ambrose hits a low clothesline for a one count. Ambrose applies a nerve hold before kneeing him in the back. Ambrose goes back to the neck vice, but Bryan fights up and elbows out. Bryan punches him in the face a few times before hitting the ropes. Ambrose follows and knees him in the midsection. Ambrose punches him before hitting the ropes and connecting with a dropkick for a near fall. Ambrose quickly applies a chin lock. Bryan fights up and elbows out, but Ambrose head-butts him to the corner. Ambrose punches him before backing up and charging. Bryan sidesteps him, and Ambrose hits the ring post shoulder first.

Bryan backs up and charges into Ambrose with a running dropkick. Ambrose’s left eye appears to be swelling shut, as there is a cut underneath it. Bryan kicks away at him before putting him in the tree of woe position. Bryan kicks away at him, backs up, and charges into him with a dropkick to the midsection for a near fall. Bryan uppercuts him a few times, and Ambrose surprises him with a backslide pin for a near fall. Bryan quickly gets up and hits a running kick to the midsection. Bryan goes to the top rope, and The Shield attempts to intimidate him. Kane appears to even the odds. Bryan then hits a missile dropkick on Ambrose for a near fall. The Shield shouts words of encouragement toward Ambrose as he punches Bryan in the throat. Ambrose sends him into the ropes, but he lowers his head and eats a kick. Ambrose ducks a roundhouse, and he takes Bryan down with a modified face-buster for a near fall. Ambrose knees away at him before talking some trash. Ambrose goes for a short-arm clothesline, but Bryan counters into the No! Lock. Seth Rollins tries to interfere, but Kane grabs him. The referee also tries to help keep Rollins out. On the other side of the ring, Roman Reigns kicks Bryan in the head. Rollins and Reigns attack Kane as Ambrose goes for his Headlock DDT, but Kofi Kingston runs in and attacks him, causing a disqualification!

Winner via Disqualification: Dean Ambrose

Kingston punches away at Ambrose wildly. Bryan attacks Rollins as Kane throws Reigns into the crowd. Bryan clotheslines Rollins out of the ring. Kingston throws Ambrose to the apron and dropkicks him off. Team Hell No and Kofi Kingston celebrate in the ring as The Shield retreats. Ambrose is bleeding from the mouth and under his eye.

The Shield vs. The Usos and Kofi Kingston

Ambrose and one of the Usos start the match. Uso is able to keep control and tags in his brother. Rollins attempts to make a save but is caught with an uppercut as he flies into the ring. Rollins apparently received the tag. Uso is in control until Rollins backs him into the corner and tags in Reigns. Roman delivers a few kicks before slamming the head of Uso into the mat and following with an arm lariat. Reigns brings in Ambrose and sets Uso up for dropkicks from both Ambrose and the freshly tagged Rollins. Ambrose receives the tag and continues to work Uso in the corner. The control continues as Reigns and then Rollins are tagged to continue the isolation. Uso is finally able to make his way to the corner and tags in Kofi. Kingston is all sorts of fired up as he clears the ring of all Shield members. Kofi goes for a cover after a high leaping crossbody on Ambrose but The Shield embers kicks out. Both teams spill into the ring before sprawling to the outside. Ambrose hits a devastating DDT to end the match.

Winners: The Shield

Ryback vs. Kane

After Ryback wins the match, The Shield’s music hits. Bryan runs down to the ring to help out Kane. Ryback decides that rather than face The Shield he will duck out to the ringside area and watch. John Cena’s music hits and he too comes to the aid of The Big Red Machine. The Shield hits the ring. Ryback has a change of heart and grabs a steel chair. All hell breaks loose as a brawl breaks out in the ring. Cena is attacking Rollins until Ryback hits Cena with a chair from behind. Ryback stands triumphant in the ring as he declares “Ryback Rules” to close the show.
